Delhi Vs Hyderabad- Preview

After the last thrashing defeat of Delhi the team is really under great pressure. Today Sehwag’s Delhi will fight against Hyderabad. Today is the must-win situation for Delhi after losing to Kolkata on Tuesday.

Delhi has come under a lot of strain after losing their last three matches. Delhi has slipped to fifth position in the points table. Now they can not afford another defeat as it will bleak its chances to enter semi finals.

On the other hand the Hyderabad team has not much at the stake as the team is already out of the race for the semis. They have lost seven of the nine matches they have played so far!

Delhi team can win if Sehwag plays in typical Sehwag kind of cricket i.e. the real aggressive batting! His batting will have to be dominating and aggressive so that the Hyderabad bowling side remains under pressure. All the players like Sehwag, Gambhir, Shikhar Dhawan and A.B. de Villiers, Glenn McGrath and Yomahesh will have to put in a collective effort to win the match.

The areas of concern include players like Mohammad Asif, Shoaib Malik and Manoj Tiwary. Sehwag will need to take special steps for getting the performance from these players who have proved failures so far!

On the other side Hyderabad has lost Captain V.V.S. Laxman due to a wrist injury. Hyderabad was amongst the strongest teams of IPL but its players could not play in accordance with the shortest form of cricket. With players like Adam Gilchrist, Shahid Afridi and Herschelle Gibbs the team performed like a test team rather than the fast team of T20.

That is why the team has got only two wins in nine matches, while Delhi, has eight points from nine matches. Few faint hopes for Delhi are still there and Delhi looks the favourite for today’s match. So let’s see what Ferozeshah Kotla unfolds tonight!
