Hyderabad fails again!

It was yet another a poor performance from the Hyderabad team. It suffered its fifth straight defeat at home as Mumbai snatched its sixth straight win. Mumbai got 25-run victory at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad.

Sri Lankan pace bowler Dilhara Fernando’s double strike in the fifth over forced the dangerous Adam Gilchrist to go back soon without any good score. With his departure the hopes of his team were dashed to the ground. He was out at 13 off Fernando.

S. Afridi again failed to impress with his bat as he was taken by Thornely at a ball by Bravo at 0. R. Sharma was lbw at a ball by Fernando when he was struggling at 6.

C. Silva tried to get hold of the aggressive bowling but was out at a ball by Nayar at 17. Y. Venugopala Rao made a good score of 57 before he was out at ball by Bravo. D. Ravi Teja was out at ball by Bravo at 37. N. Zoysa was not out at 10. H. Das was run out at 2. Total score was 153.

Mumbai batted well to put forward a good target. S. Jayasuriya played aggressively and made 36 before he was out at a delivery by Venugopala Rao. S. Tendulkar failed again to leave a mark as he was out at ball by Afridi at 23 runs.

D. Thornely was lbw again on ball by Afridi at 8. A. Nayar’s catch was taken by Sharma off R.P. Singh at 38. R. Uthappa c was out at ball by Venugopala at mere 7.

D. Bravo put in 30 runs before he was out at ball by R.P. Singh at 30. P. Shah contributed 10 runs. Takawale was not out 5 and R. Raje was not out. This way team made a score of 178 that was insurmountable for Hyderabad that failed again. This was a good and crucial victory for Mumbai that has made a come back in the tournament. This victory has brightened the chances of team to move towards semis.
